Linda Druelinger, MD
Dr. Druelinger received her bachelor of science from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1982 followed by her MD degree from the University of Health Sciences, Chicago Medical School in 1986. She completed her residency in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago and joined the faculty in 1990. Currently the Clerkship Course Director for Emergency Medicine and Director of Education in the Section of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Druelinger is widely lauded for her outstanding mentorship and teaching skills. She is a two-time recipient of both the Emergency Medicine Residency Teaching Award and Attending Physician of the Year Award. She has also been recognized twice as a favorite faculty member in the Pritzker graduating class composition photograph. In 2006, she received the Department of Medicine Education Award for Mentorship.
An innovative medical educator, Dr. Druelinger developed the Introduction to Emergency Medicine elective for first and second year students and has served as its course director for the last sixteen years. Her impact on medical education has been felt at the national and regional level. She served as a Committee Member on the Written Board Review Course for the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians for eleven years and is currently an American Board of Emergency Medicine oral examiner. Dr. Druelinger also founded and has served as the faculty mentor of the Emergency Medicine Interest Group for the last six years and is an active member of the Clinical Curriculum Review Committee.
