CNN Medical Correspondent to Serve as Pritzker Commencement Speaker

May 23, 2007— CNN's chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta, MD will serve as the Pritzker School of Medicine’s 2007 Commencement keynote speaker. He is Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Emory and Associate Chief of the Neurosurgery Service at Grady Memorial Hospital. Dr. Gupta completed his neurosurgical training at the University of Michigan under Chairman Dr. Julian Hoff and then spent time doing a fellowship with Dr. Kevin Foley at the Semmes Murphy Clinic in Memphis Tennessee. Before moving to Atlanta, he was in private practice in Michigan. In April, Dr. Gupta’s book, Chasing Life, was published and became a New York Times bestseller.
Dr. Gupta will speak during the Pritzker School of Medicine’s hooding ceremony at 10:00am on Friday, June 8 on the Midway Plaisance at the corner of 59th and Ellis Avenue. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.
