Application Process
Reminder: If you are applying for loans online, you must still fill out the confirmation sheet on the second page of your award letter from us and return it to the financial aid office.
Financial aid awards are made on a rolling basis. Accepted students will receive their application packets in the mail during the admissions cycle. Current students must reapply for financial aid each year. Applications are available at the end of January. Award letters are generally mailed to continuing students in May through July.
Financial Aid Application Instructions
1. Complete a FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA. File as soon as possible after
January 1. File early enough to allow for a 2-3 week processing time. The Pritzker School of Medicine FAFSA code is G10141.
2. Complete the Online Pritzker Financial Aid Application.
- Review the sample financial aid application below. Use the sample form to gather all the information you need to fill out the application. You will need to fill out the online application in one sitting. You cannot save it and return to it later.
- Fill out the online application below. To navigate within the form you may use the tab key or click into a box. To move between pages, be sure to use the next and back buttons on the form itself. Do not use the back button on your browser; if you do you will lose all of your information.
- Remember to press the submit button on the last page of the application. This will send the application to the financial aid office.
- If you have changes after submitting the online application, you may re-submit the application. The later application will replace the earlier submission.

3. Applicants interested in receiving Pritzker School of Medicine loans/Scholarships & Federal Title VII Funds must also complete or turn in the following surveys and forms to the financial aid office:
- Student's Federal Tax Return and W-2's. This is a signed copy of all pages and schedules as submitted. For the 2008-2009 academic year a signed copy of the 2007 return is required.
- Background Information Online Survey This information is used to allocate restricted institutional scholarship and loan funds. Restricted funds are those for which eligibility may be based on personal characteristics and or career plans according to the criteria of eligibility set forth by the donor of the fund.
View Sample Background Information Sheet (PDF) - Alien Registration Card. Permanent residents of the United States must submit a copy of both sides of their alien registration card ("green card"). This needs to be done only once during the student's enrollment.

International students wishing to be considered for Pritzker School of Medicine loans may submit a FAFSA via the Internet or submit a paper FAFSA to the Financial Aid Office including parental data. The student and his or her parents should submit a copy of the most recent tax returns with a translation and an indication of the exchange rate. If there are no tax returns, the student should submit documentation of personal and family income.
Notifications
The Office of Financial Aid must be notified in writing if:
- any outside scholarships, assistantships, fellowships, or loans are awarded;
- any significant change in financial circumstances occurs after submission of the financial aid application; or
- the student's status is anything other than full-time and in good standing at Pritzker School of Medicine.
Appeals Process
A student who wishes to appeal a financial aid decision should submit a letter to the Office of Financial Aid detailing the reasons for the appeal along with supporting documentation. All appeals are considered by Committee for Financial Aid appointed annually by the Dean of Medical Education.
