Below are our recommendations for finding housing; feel free to follow a schedule that meets your needs:

  • April-May - Review housing information, using the links below.
  • May - June - Arrange appointments with landlords & management companies, stay with a current Pritzker student while you look at places, sign a lease!
  • Mid-July - Move in, get settled, open a bank account, etc.
  • August 2 - Welcome to Pritzker!

Useful Housing Links:

  • UChicago Marketplace
A great University of Chicago website for finding/posting housing, along with furniture, books, and just about everything else.
  • Craigslist Chicago
Try seaching for "Hyde Park" or "University of Chicago" in quotes.
  • University of Chicago Graduate Student Housing
Find links and descriptions of the New Graduate Residence Hall, the International House, and other graduate housing options. NOTE: Rooms are assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are considering this option, please submit your 100% refundable deposit ASAP!
  • International House
Students and affiliates of the University of Chicago and from all other Chicago-area educational, professional, and cultural institutions are eligible to live at International House.  Residents are typically graduate students or 3rd and 4th year undergraduates.
Get useful information about registering to vote in the state of Illinois through the Illinois State Board of Elections website.
