Student Life

Service Learning

All students at Pritzker have the opportunity to participate in Service-Learning activities throughout medical school: working alongside fellow students, faculty, and community members during the Days of Service; providing clinical care at our student-run free clinics; or leading health education activities at our partner schools.  The service efforts of the Pritzker community complement the goal of University of Chicago Medicine's Urban Health Initiative to improve the long-term health of residents of the South Side of Chicago.

First and third years may apply to be Schweitzer Fellows, with funding to support community projects completed over the following year.

Students who are dedicated to community service and have an interest in incorporating service activities into their curriculum should visit the Community Health Scholars Track pages. To learn about all community service opportunities available to Pritzker students, please visit our Community Health and Service Learning Groups page.
