Dr. Alison Anastasio completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Carleton College and attended the University of Chicago for her graduate training. Her research focused on the genetic basis of adaptation in plants and she received her PhD in 2009. Dr. Anastasio was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Chicago and a Visiting Researcher at Mid Sweden University before being appointed in 2011 as the Manager of Graduate Research, Education, and Outreach for the departments of Ecology & Evolution and Organismal Biology & Anatomy. In this role, she oversaw all aspects of graduate education including student advising, programmatic activities, thesis committee meetings and grants management. Dr. Anastasio has also served as an Instructor in the Graham School of Continuing Studies and a lecturer in the Environmental Studies Program at the University of Chicago. She joined the MSTP in 2015.
