Pre-Pritzker: During my gap year, I developed a mobile application called InstantEval, which became the basis of a start-up that I founded through an accelerator program at UChicago's Booth School of Business. I also developed image analysis research software.
S&D Track: Medical Education
S&D Mentor & Project: I am studying gender bias in resident evaluations using quantitative and qualitative methods. The data for this study was collected using my evaluation mobile app, InstantEval. My S&D mentor is Dr. Vineet Arora, but this project is now becoming a campus-wide collaboration!

Why did you choose to attend Pritzker?

The ability to attend medical school on the campus of a major research university was a major draw for me. This arrangement, combined with a truly pass-fail curriculum, allowed me to engage in research projects,  business ventures, and work with scholars from all disciplines during my time in medical school.

What has been your most meaningful clinical experience at Pritzker?

Volunteering with the NLVS free clinic, which primarily serves the South-Asian immigrant population of Chicago, has been an extremely meaningful part of my clinical training. Our patients are very happy to discuss their concerns in their mother-tongue (usually Hindi/Urdu). It gives me great satisfaction to know that I am able to participating in providing culturally-competent care.
