Why did you choose to attend Pritzker?

I chose Pritzker for the people that make up the school. When I visited Pritzker as a prospective student, I was so in awe of the culture. The faculty are very accessible and incredibly encouraging of medical students, the staff are extremely supportive, and my fellow students inspire me every day.

What have been your most meaningful clinical experiences as a Pritzker student?

One of the most significant experiences I've had in medical school actually came during my first year, when 11 fellow students and I traveled to South Dakota to visit the Rosebud Reservation. We spent a week shadowing at the Indian Health Service hospital on the reservation and volunteering in the community. It was an eye-opening experience and ultimately helped convince me to pursue a career in family medicine and consider working in a rural area in the future!

What do you think about diversity & inclusion at Pritzker?

One of the things that drew me to Pritzker was the amount of diversity here and the way that different backgrounds are celebrated within our community. My classmates come from so many different backgrounds, and I have really enjoyed the chance to get to know them over the past years. In exchange, I've also gotten to teach my classmates about my experiences raising chickens, sheep, cows, and horses on my family's farm!

What is your favorite thing to do in Chicago or the best thing about living in Chicago?

My favorite aspect of Hyde Park is the Promontory Point Park on Lake Michigan. It's a beautiful place to run along the lakefront trail, swim in the lake, or build a bonfire with friends!
