For the Pritzker School of Medicine Class of 2023, it might have felt at times like this moment would never really arrive. When their medical school experience was interrupted early on by the global COVID-19 pandemic, Match Day surely seemed far, far away, but they pushed ahead on their path to careers in medicine. After years of training, deciding what specialty to pursue, and spending countless hours applying to and interviewing with residency training programs across the country, Match Day 2023 finally arrived on Friday.
With their friends and families at their sides to take in the big moment, members of the Class of 2023 tore open their Match Envelopes together at 11 a.m. CT to find out where their medical training will take them next. From coast to coast, from anesthesiology to surgery and everything in between, 87 soon-to-be graduates secured residency training positions in the U.S. Match.
