How would you describe your classmates?

My Pritzker class is exceptionally smart, hard-working, and engaged with their community. It seems like every time I pick up my phone there's a new GroupMe message inviting people to participate in a volunteering opportunity, political activism, or to go downtown for food and drinks. People study hard, but they like to have a good time and be around each other too.

What is your favorite thing to do in Chicago or the best thing about living in Chicago?

I'm a big trivia guy, so I love to see what the different pub trivias are like around town. It's a great excuse to get a group of friends together to go out and see a different neighborhood. Another favorite activity is to see live music. There are dozens of small music venues with tickets for $10 or less (oftentimes even free!) with great up-and-coming bands. Everything from bluegrass to Delta blues to heavy metal is represented on any given night, and going to shows is a great way to decompress and lose yourself in something other than medicine for an evening. I also really enjoy getting out of the city and going for nature hikes in one of Illinois many forest or prairie preserves. Illinois may be relatively flat, but there is still a vast amount of natural beauty, wildlife, and charming old towns to see in the state.
