Why did you choose to attend Pritzker?

I chose Pritzker for the strong community between students and faculty.  Pritzker fosters a collaborative community among students, and given the small class size, there are many opportunities to meet and build relationships with faculty. I additionally chose Pritzker because I am interested in pursuing a career in academic medicine. Pritzker is unique in the many avenues provided to pursue research in basic/clinical sciences, medical education, quality improvement, and global health. These opportunities are extremely valuable, especially for anyone interested in an academic career.

What have been your most meaningful clinical experiences as a Pritzker student?

All of my third year clerkships were valuable learning experiences. I particularly enjoyed my family medicine clerkship, because I had the opportunity to work in two very different Chicago clinics. One clinic was a low-resource, south side clinic, and the other was in a high-resource northern suburb of Chicago. Both clinics were valuable experiences in their own right, and together I learned a lot about differences in patient populations, resources, and communication.

How would you describe your classmates?

My classmates are diverse, invested in their communities, endlessly curious, and extremely intelligent. I feel lifted up by the community of students here. They motivate me to continue learning and exploring with them.

What is your favorite thing to do in Chicago or the best thing about living in Chicago?

In the summer I love swimming in the lake at Promontory Point. There are endless summer festivals and outdoor activities I enjoy going to in the summer. I additionally take advantage of the Hyde Park Arts Center, which has a ceramics studio. I have studio time in the ceramics studio that I use to pursue this hobby.
