Student Hosting Accommodations Request Form

We are looking forward to welcoming you to campus for your interview day! If you are an MD applicant and would like to request a student host, please fill out the form above, and our Student Hosting Coordinators will match you with a host. We will make every effort to find a student host for those who request them, but may not always be able to. You will receive a confirmation email once the hosting coordinators have received your request. This is not an automatic email, so it may take several days to hear back. MSTP applicants have alternate accommodations and should not request a host through the form above.

Please note: We will generally inform you about hosting arrangements about a week before your interview date, but depending on host availability and student schedules, you may hear about your host only a few days in advance. If you would feel more comfortable, you can also make a back up reservation at the lodging accommodations below.

Please contact pritzkerhosting@gmail.com with any questions about the hosting program, and our Student Hosting Coordinators will get back to you as soon as possible.

Getting to Pritzker

Flying to Chicago

If you choose to fly to Chicago for your visit, there are two major commercial airports in the Chicago area: O’Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport.

Midway

Midway International Airport is approximately eight miles west of the University of Chicago campus. Midway is easily accessible from our campus by public transportation, car, shuttle, and taxi. We strongly suggest looking for flights into Midway Airport (usually Delta or Southwest) as it is much closer to campus than O'Hare.

O’Hare

O’Hare International Airport is approximately 30 miles northwest and is also accessible from our campus by public transportation, shuttle, car, and taxi.

Public Transit

From Midway Airport, visitors can take a direct 55 bus to our Campus in Hyde Park, which takes about 50 minutes.

From O’Hare, visitors can take the Blue Line to the Loop and transfer at the Jackson Blue Line stop to the 6 or 2 bus to Hyde Park (both run express, but the 2 bus is only active during AM and PM rush hour times). Given the distance, visitors are encouraged to allot an hour and 45 minutes to two hours of travel time for reaching Hyde Park from O’Hare via public transportation.

Taxis and Cabs

If you wish to take a taxi from either airport to our campus, simply follow the signs at the airport to the taxi stand. A taxi from O’Hare will cost approximately $50–60, and from Midway the fare will be approximately $30. Ride shares from Midway only take about 20-25 minutes to get directly to campus. Ride shares from O’Hare to Hyde Park take about 45-50 minutes.

Driving to Chicago

Our street address is 924 E. 57th Street, Chicago, IL 60637.

Parking

If you will be driving to campus, we are happy to provide a parking pass. Please park in the Medical Campus Parking B garage, located at 5656 S. Maryland Ave. From this garage, walk east on 57th Street to get to the Pritzker School of Medicine, which will be on your left. Keep your parking ticket, and we will provide you with an additional validation ticket at the end of your interview day, which will allow you to exit the garage.

Our Neighborhood, Our City

Hyde Park is wonderful -- it's a small community in a big city. It is not uncommon to run into 3 people I know while walking my dog around the block. I love the neighborhood's small town feel, but also the access to downtown with all the amazing restaurants, theater, and nightlife you could hope for. The lake is also incredible and I think you'd be hard pressed to find a park that's as beautiful as Promontory Point.
