After two years of virtual events prompted by a global pandemic, Match Day returned as an in-person event to celebrate the Pritzker School of Medicine Class of 2022 as students learned where they will undertake residency training. This Match Day was a momentous occasion in its own right, but for a class that completed the entirety of their clinical training during a pandemic and amid a constantly-evolving learning environment, the moment was particularly special. With parents, grandparents, siblings, partners, faculty, and staff on hand at Ida Noyes Hall to take in the long-anticipated moment (and many more watching via live stream), the clocked ticked toward 11 a.m. in Chicago, and students began to receive their Match envelopes. When the time finally arrived to discover their next stops, students ripped open their envelopes to receive their residency placements.
