Our mission is to deliver high-quality, compassionate health care that respects each patient's dignity and individuality. Interprofessional teams collaborate to advance medical innovation, serve community health needs, and enhance medical student education.

We operate six community clinics across Chicago, serving uninsured patients in underserved, culturally diverse communities. Our clinics provide excellent patient care, offer students hands-on clinical experience, and create leadership opportunities in clinic management and community outreach.

January 2025 - December 2025 Impact:

  • 173 clinic sessions
  • 731 patients treated
  • 302 student volunteers (most volunteer 3+ times)
  • 57 preceptors (many volunteer 2+ times)
  • 38 resident volunteers

All patient care by medical students requires supervision by UCM Health System licensed physicians (faculty, fellows, and chief residents). Over 90% of our trainees volunteer at the clinics and consider the experience a highlight of their medical education.

2025-2026 Free Clinic Faculty Advisors

Our free clinic faculty advisors play a crucial role in providing ongoing mentorship to the student leadership boards of our free clinics. They regularly serve as preceptors during clinic sessions, ensuring both exceptional patient care and enriching hands-on learning experiences.

Recognizing our 2025 Free Clinic
Preceptor Volunteers

The success of our free clinics would not be possible without the service and commitment of our free clinic faculty, fellow and chief-resident volunteers who work alongside our students at each clinic session.  Over the past year, the following preceptor volunteers have made a significant impact on our students, patients, and communities through their clinical work and teaching at our free clinics:

Thank you to every Preceptor Volunteer – our Free Clinics could not operate without you!

All our Free Clinics require that medical student patient care is supervised by a fully-licensed* physician for clinic to run (includes UChicago & Northshore Faculty, Fellows, and Chief Residents).
If there is not a fully-licensed preceptor supervising, clinic has to be canceled.

*Resident physicians are not fully-independently licensed and are not able to serve as preceptors.
