Why wellness is important to me: Being a medical student is rewarding, but also at times very challenging. Maintaining wellness is critical for overcoming those challenges, as it can help prevent burnout, improve focus, and sustain passion for the medical field. Before we can even think about treating patients, we have to care for our own wellness first. When we take good care of ourselves, we're better able to think clearly and make proper judgments, which directly translates to better patient care. This is why wellness is important to me.
Why I'm on the committee: I'm passionate about mental health and student wellness, especially in the demanding environment of medical school. Therefore, I want to contribute to a more supportive and balanced environment for my peers. I want to help create a strong sense of community within Pritzker so that students feel more connected and supported.
Fun Fact: I am a horror movie fanatic.
