Student Life

Name: Kenneth Wang

Year of Study: MS2

Why wellness is important to me: Life is happening now; the times in my own life when I’ve succeeded in remembering this are the times when I’ve flourished the most. Coming into medical school, I wanted to be very intentional about holding fast to my identities and values outside of any academic and professional pursuits. For each of us, being a medical student is only one part of a whole self — a self that deserves to be physically, emotionally, and spiritually well. Maintaining this balance can be challenging, but is so worth it, which is why I’m excited to help cultivate it with the Wellness Committee!

Why I'm on the committee: I was initially caught off guard by how challenging medical school has been. However, I’ve also found it to be a wonderfully uplifting experience, chiefly because of the incredibly kind hearts, brilliant minds, and passionate souls in the Pritzker community. I joined the Wellness Committee with the hope of facilitating efforts to help us all lead balanced lives and to sprinkle some joy throughout our time here, especially by bringing people together.

Fun Fact: I almost exclusively shower in the dark — it’s very meditative and calming (and just a little bit scary)!

Meet the rest of the Pritzker Wellness Committee!
