Student Life

Name: Rachel Son

Year of Study: MS3

Why wellness is important to me: It can be easy to forget to take time for yourself when medical school is so hectic. Even so, taking care of my own well-being will make me better able to care for my future patients, community, and self. Wellness is so important for medical students (and doctors) in the long-term!

Why I’m on the committee: The COVID-19 pandemic has contributed to feelings of isolation and helplessness both within our class and elsewhere in the world. I want my classmates to feel connected and supported in socially distant ways despite the unexpected challenges we’re facing during our medical education.

Fun fact: I love to cook! Things I have made from scratch include dumplings, gnocchi, eggplant parmesan, chocolate cake with raspberry jam and chocolate frosting, fried rice wrapped in egg, etc.

Meet the rest of the Pritzker Wellness Committee!
