Congratulations again on your acceptance to the Pritzker School of Medicine! Below you will find a reminder of important dates and deadlines, along with resources from Revisit presentations on Housing and Life in Chicago; the Pritzker Curriculum; Scholarship and Discovery; and a link to the interviewee website with additional resources.

Dates & Deadlines

This page outlines our MD admitted student policies for the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School tool along with several important dates. It may also be helpful to review the AAMC Application and Acceptance Protocols for Applicants.

Important Dates:

  • April 15: By April 15, you may hold offers of admission to no more than three schools, and must withdraw your acceptances from all other schools. You may remain on waitlists.
  • April 30: Accepted students planning to matriculate at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine must select either the Plan to Enroll option or the Commit to Enroll option in the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School tool by 5:00 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, April 30. (Please see below for information on the differences between these two selections.)
  • Friday, May 10: Accepted MSTP students planning to matriculate at the University of Chicago must select Commit to Enroll in the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School tool and withdraw from other waitlists.
  • Friday, July 12: Accepted MD students planning to matriculate at the University of Chicago must select Commit to Enroll in the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School tool and withdraw from other waitlists. 

Plan to Enroll/Commit to Enroll:

  • By selecting Plan to Enroll on April 30, you affirm that you are holding no other offers of acceptance. You may remain on waitlists.
  • If you have made your final decision and are certain that you will be matriculating at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in August, you should select the Commit to Enroll option. By selecting Commit to Enroll, you affirm that you are holding no other offers of acceptance and have withdrawn from all waitlists or alternate lists.

Orientation 2024

Required MD orientation activities will begin on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Our Office of Student Affairs and Programs and student Orientation Co-Chairs will be in touch throughout the summer with pre-matriculation information and the Orientation schedule.

The 2024 White Coat Ceremony will be held on Sunday, August 11.

Deferrals

Admitted students may request a deferral by sending an email to the Admissions Office outlining the reason for the request and plans for the deferral year. Non-emergency deferral requests should be submitted by May 10, 2024.
